iOS & Android updates

My primary job when I joined City Index was to update the look and feel of their data heavy platforms. Their iPhone and Android apps hadn't been touched since it was first created and looked and felt extremely dated.

I worked closely with their team of remote developers to update the look and feel across both iOS & Android whilst ensuring that the new designs also catered for multiple languages. One of the most important things was to keep the functionality familiar to the users and also keeping a solid consistency across the apps - the last thing a user would want is to learn new complex behaviours when their time dependent investments are on the line.

iPad redesign

The City Index iPad offering had been built when the iPad first came out, and sadly had been left to stagnate. I was tasked with redesigning the app from the ground up whilst ensuring that the user experience was consistent with the desktop and mobile based platforms.

A lot of research was put into the redesign, testing with current and new City Index clients was undertaken and an interactive presentation of the prototype I had created was presented to the C level board members - which was received well and ended up prompting a focus on the iPad app that had been forgotten about for a multiple years.

The end result was a sleeker, more refined experience that utilised the flexibility and convenience of the iPad together with familiar behaviours and actions found on the other City Index platforms.
